About Me

About Me

My name is Amanda Leonard and I am 18 years old from a small town in New Hampshire called Brookfield. It is right near Lake Winnipesaukee where many people from and not from New Hampshire like to spend their summers. In the town Wolfeboro which is on the lake, I work at a local, family-owned restaurant called Morrissey’s Front Porch where I scoop and serve ice cream.

Growing up surrounded by water is what made me want to go to school at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. It is located right on the ocean and has access to the water from their own beach. At UNE, I am a first-year student and study Psychology. I am studying Psychology because I want to be able to help people who struggle with either mental illness or who have been through psychological trauma.

At UNE I am a member of the Activities Planning Board where we plan the events that occur on campus. I am also a member of the Habitat for Humanity club which helps to build homes for people along with doing other volunteer work around the community.

When I am not in school I like to spend my time at the beach or on the water when I want to relax, and going hiking or for walks when I want to be active.
